Simultaneously with the development of the chemical industry in Prykarpattia in the 1950s–60s, the ancient city of Kalush also began to develop intensively. In its outskirts lie large deposits of polymineral ores. The presence of historical documents, books, photographs about the past and the development of Kalush saltworks, as well as the enthusiasm of local residents to preserve historical values, made it possible to open a Museum of History and Labor Glory of the enterprise in March 1976, located in one of the halls of the "Mineral" Palace of Culture.
